چکیده
The primary objective of this study was to evaluate the protective efficacy a novel recombinant subunit vaccine containing protein YidR (rYidR) against clinical mastitis (CM) caused by Klebsiella spp. and Escherichia coli. Given that E. coli infection is known cause metritis, we also evaluated effect rYidR vaccination on incidence metritis conception at first artificial insemination. Retained placenta abortion incidence, milk production composition, serological responses specific antigens were evaluated. In total, 3,107 cows blocked parity randomly allocated into 1 3 treatment groups: experimental (rYidR); commercial composed pneumoniae siderophore receptors porin (Kleb-SRP; KlebVax, Epitopix, Willmar, MN); sterile water adjuvanted with aluminum hydroxide (20%; placebo). Vaccinations performed dry-off for cows, 223 ± d pregnancy pre-fresh heifers. A second administration given 21 after injection. Vaccination significantly reduced CM (3.2%) when compared placebo (5.1%) group. No difference observed risk between Kleb-SRP (5.9%) groups. Cows in group experienced had lower death or culling (12.5%) (27.6%) groups (27.8%). Furthermore, among developed CM, rYidR-immunized produced more than did Regardless occurrence, tended have higher up eighth month lactation other significant overall metritis; however, retained be (4.7%) (6.7%). addition, primiparous highest insemination (48.3%) (39.5%) group, no (40.1%) Generally, antibody serum titers (IgM IgG) immunized placebo. conclusion, mortality infections. Other benefits include maintenance coli, service

UNLABELLED The objective of this study was to identify risk factors for bacteremia by extended-spectrum β-lactamase (ESBL)-producing Escherichia coli and Klebsiella pneumoniae. Retrospective case-control study performed in a 450-bed acute care academic tertiary hospital in Barcelona, Spain. Cases included 53 patients with ESBL-producing E. coli or K. pneumoniae bacteremia, and 159 controls with...
